Job summary

Fairmount Behavioral Health System, located on a 27-acre wooded campus in Philadelphia, seeks a Per Diem Creative Arts Therapist to join its team. The therapist will assess patients’ leisure activities and lead therapy groups using arts modalities and talk therapy, helping to develop safety/crisis plans and behavior goals in line with the program’s philosophy.

Qualifications include a Master’s degree in Counseling or related field with a creative arts specialization; 1 year of behavioral health

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Counseling or related field with specialization in a creative arts/allied therapy modality (i.e. art, music, movement, recreation, occupational therapy)
• 1 year of experience in Behavioral health field working with people in recovery from mental health disorders preferred
• PA professional license preferred but not required; current registration/certification/licensure in accordance with state/national board standards preferred

Responsibilities

• Assess patients’ leisure and recreational activities.
• Provide age and developmentally appropriate therapy groups using a combination of activities, creative arts modalities, and talk therapy.
• Help patients develop safety/crisis plans and establish behavioral treatment goals.
• Flexibility for reassignment to units providing care to varied populations including children, adolescents, and adults.
