Job summary

Shadelands Post Acute in Walnut Creek, CA is seeking a compassionate Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) – PRN to join our rehabilitation team. The role focuses on helping patients regain independence and improve functional abilities.

The COTA will provide therapy under the supervision of a licensed OT, support treatment plans, and contribute to a collaborative interdisciplinary team. PRN schedule with competitive pay and opportunities for growth are offered.

Qualifications

• Current and active COTA certification and state license.
• Graduate of an accredited OTA program.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide OT treatment under the supervision of a licensed OT.
• Implement individualized treatment plans based on patient goals.
• Help patients improve independence in ADLs and functional mobility.
• Deliver therapeutic activities to improve strength, coordination, balance, cognition, and skills.
• Document progress and communicate changes to the OT and team.
• Educate patients and families on home programs and safety strategies.
• Participate in care conferences and discharge planning.
• Maintain compliance with state regulations and facility policies.
