Job summary

Duncaster in Bloomfield, CT is seeking a Cook to join our Life Plan community dining team. Under the Executive Chef, you will prepare meals, manage recipes, and ensure food safety and sanitation.

Per diem shifts, 8-hour blocks from early morning to evening. CPR/Heimlich training and HACCP knowledge are valued; experience in healthcare environments is preferred. This role offers competitive pay and benefits within a supportive team.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Post-secondary culinary arts degree desirable but not required.
• CPR and Heimlich maneuver training mentioned in job description.
• HACCP protocols understood and followed.

Responsibilities

• Reviews menus and production sheets to determine quantities.
• Measures and mixes ingredients with various utensils.
• Prepares food and supplies from storage areas using FIFO.
• Ensures food is prepared on time and as per menu.
• Follows health regulations and sanitation standards.
• Maintains clean and properly arranged food prep areas.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
