Qualifications

• Prior cooking experience in healthcare or long-term care required.

• ServSafe certification preferred (or willingness to obtain).
• Ability to work independently and efficiently.
• Flexible availability, including weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Prepare meals in accordance with planned menus and standardized recipes.
• Follow physician-ordered therapeutic diets (mechanical soft, puree, diabetic, low sodium, etc.).
• Ensure compliance with CMS, state, and facility food safety regulations.
• Maintain proper food temperatures and complete required logs/documentation.
• Adhere to infection control and sanitation standards.
• Assist with meal service and tray accuracy for residents.
• Maintain a clean, organized kitchen environment.
• Communicate effectively with dietary manager and nursing staff.

This position is responsible for preparing and serving nutritious meals in accordance with physician-ordered therapeutic diets, resident preferences, and federal/state long-term care regulations.
