Job summary

Dartmouth College is seeking an Athletic Trainer to provide per diem, on-site health care for varsity athletes and visiting teams at events. The role covers practices and contests with immediate injury treatment and referrals as needed, including concussion evaluations.

Required are a Bachelor's in Athletic Training, NATABOC certification, NH license eligibility, and CPR/First Aid. Prior college-athletic experience and advanced certifications are preferred.

Qualifications

  • Demonstrated ability to evaluate common athletic injuries.
  • The candidate should be proficient with rehabilitation planning for various injuries.
  • Experience communicating with coaches, athletes and staff.

Responsibilities

  • Provide onsite athletic training coverage at practices and contests.
  • Evaluate injuries using established protocols.
  • Provide immediate on-site care and refer as needed.
  • Conduct concussion evaluations per Dartmouth Sports Medicine procedures.
  • Make return-to-play determinations independently or with the team physician.
  • Prepare athletes for practices including taping, wrapping, and warm-up assistance.
  • Stay current with sports medicine advances via journal review and training events.
  • Maintain facilities, equipment and supplies; perform routine maintenance.
