Job summary

Riverside University Health System seeks a Per Diem Clinical Laboratory Scientist for the Laboratory of the Medical Center in Moreno Valley, CA. Ideal candidates will bring significant understanding of blood bank/hematology testing and instrumentation, with strong knowledge of quality control, quality assurance, and relevant laboratory regulations.

Shifts are generally 3pm-11:30pm and 11:00pm-7:30am, with every other weekend, holidays, and other coverage as needed.

Qualifications

• Must possess a valid Clinical Laboratory Scientist license (California).
• Experience with blood bank/hematology testing and instrumentation preferred.
• Ability to operate and maintain laboratory equipment and perform diverse tests.

Responsibilities

• Perform a range of clinical lab tests across hematology, serology, chemistry, microbiology and related areas.
• Group, type, and cross-match blood and determine blood counts.
• Perform qualitative and quantitative chemical analyses of body fluids.
• Operate and maintain manual and automated lab equipment.
• Prepare media, stains, and reagents; maintain stock records.
• Analyze data and review quality control to ensure accuracy.
