Responsibilities include patient repositioning, bed setting, transporting supplies, and collecting specimens, with emphasis on safety and patient comfort. BLS and CNA/nursing student credentials are required, with CATP completion preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent strongly preferred.
• BLS certification required.
• CNA or nursing student with clinical rotation completed, or three months of clinical care experience, or completion of the Winchester Hospital Clinical Associate Training Program (CATP).
• Must be able to read, write and communicate effectively in English.

Responsibilities

• Assist with activities of daily living.
• Reposition and ambulate patients.
• Make occupied and unoccupied beds.
• Assist in transporting patients, beds, supplies and equipment.
• Collect, label, and transport specimens.
• Retrieve and sign out blood products.
• Accurately perform point-of-care testing.
• Obtain vital signs and weights.
• Maintain intake and output measurements.
• Remove Foley catheters and saline locks.
