Job summary

UNC Health Care System seeks a chaplain to provide direct pastoral care to patients, families, and staff on an on-call basis. The role is onsite in Chapel Hill, with a per diem work type and a standard 12-hour weekly expectation.

The candidate will respond to pages and EPIC consults, document encounters, and complete LMS modules as required. A Master of Divinity (MDiv) or equivalent is preferred, along with ACPE CPE training.

Qualifications

• Master of Divinity (MDiv) or equivalent required or in progress.
• Completion of a minimum of one ACPE CPE unit.
• Strong pastoral care and crisis intervention skills required.

Responsibilities

• Provides direct pastoral care to patients, families, and staff during assigned on-call shifts.
• Responds to pages, referrals, and EPIC consults during shift, including traumas, deaths, and codes.
• Documents pastoral encounters in EPIC and departmental log.
• Completes LMS modules and Health requirements by deadlines.
• Works at least one on-call shift per quarter.
• Leaves referrals for other chaplain staff as needed.
