Job summary

UNC Health in Chapel Hill, NC seeks a chaplain to provide direct pastoral care to patients, families and staff. The role includes on-call shifts, responding to emergencies and referrals, and documenting encounters in EPIC.

This is a per diem, on-site position with a 12-hour typical weekly allocation and competitive pay. Preferred candidates hold a Masters' degree (MDiv) or equivalent; ordination or ecclesiastical endorsement is a plus but not required.

Qualifications

• Master's degree preferred (MDiv or equivalent).
• At least one ACPE CPE unit completed.
• Ordination and ecclesiastical endorsement preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct pastoral care to patients, families, and staff during on-call shifts with attention to patient safety.
• Respond to pages, referrals, and EPIC consults during shifts, including traumas, deaths and codes.
• Document all pastoral care encounters in EPIC and department logs.
• Complete administrative tasks by deadlines (LMS modules, Health requirements).
• Work at least one on-call shift per quarter.
