Job summary

UNC Medical Center in Chapel Hill, NC is seeking a Chaplain to provide direct pastoral care to patients, families and staff, including on-call shifts.

The role requires completing or pursuing a Master’s degree (MDiv) or equivalent, and may prefer ordination with ecclesiastical endorsement. Candidates should have experience with EPIC, documentation, and on-call coverage. This is a per diem, onsite position with variable hours.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree (MDiv) or equivalent preferred.
• Ordination and ecclesiastical endorsement preferred but not required.
• Completion of at least one ACPE CPE unit.
• Experience with EPIC and pastoral care in a clinical setting.

Responsibilities

• Provides pastoral care to patients, families and staff during on-call shifts.
• Responds to pages, EPIC consults, and emergencies during assigned shifts.
• Documents pastoral encounters in EPIC and departmental logs.
• Completes LMS modules and Employee Health requirements by deadlines.
• Works at least one on-call shift per quarter.
