Job summary

UW Medical Center-Montlake seeks a Spiritual Health Provider (Chaplain) to join the Spiritual Health & Wellbeing Department on a per diem/on-call basis. You will cover standby shifts from 4:30pm-8:00am, with occasional day shifts for holidays, vacations and weekends, and must reside within 45 minutes of Montlake.

Role emphasizes trauma-informed spiritual care, collaboration with multidisciplinary teams, and participation in ongoing learning within a Service Culture framework.

Qualifications

• Master of Divinity or equivalent from an accredited seminary.
• Completed at least one unit of CPE; preference for four units.
• Must be in good standing with a recognized religious or spiritual body.

Responsibilities

• Cultivate UWMC Service Culture Guidelines and APC Standards of Practice.
• Provide trauma-informed spiritual care and document assessments, interventions, outcomes.
• Deliver excellent clinical care and participate in the department’s learning community.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary team for care coordination and referrals.
• Support staff wellbeing through rounding and grief support activities.
• Assess spiritual distress, goals of care, needs and resources.
• Communicate with UWMC/Fred Hutch Spiritual Health Teams for care plans.

Education

Master of Divinity (MDiv) or equivalent from seminary accredited by the Association of Theological Schools

ACPE CPE units (1 unit; preference for 4 units)
