Responsibilities include performing PFTs (FVL, FVC, DLCO, MVV), conducting CPET, maintaining equipment, and coordinating testing schedules. Requires NYS respiratory therapy credentials and CPFT within 12 months of hire.

Qualifications

• Associate’s Degree in respiratory care required by NYS Board for Respiratory Therapy.
• NY State Registered Respiratory Therapist license or CRT with CPFT within a year of hire required.
• Computer skills for pulmonary function software and Windows OS.

Responsibilities

• Performs Pulmonary Function Testing (FVL, FVC, Lung Volumes, DLCO, MVV).
• Performs Cardiopulmonary Exercise Testing.
• Maintains testing equipment and paperwork for interpretation of tests.

Position Summary:

We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Per Diem Certified Pulmonary Function Technologist (FGP) – Manhattan, Float.

In this role, the successful candidate Responsible for ensuring and coordinating delivery of prescribed pulmonary function testing services through direct performance of laboratory studies and supervision of pulmonary function laboratory staff

Job Responsibilities:

• Performs Pulmonary Function Testing. Performs FVL, FVC, Lung Volumes, DLCO, MVV as required. Checks and validates physician order for testing procedure.
• Performs Cardiopulmonary Exercise Testing.
• Maintains testing equipment. Generates appropriate paperwork to permit the interpretation of Pulmonary Function tests.
• Performs Methacholine Challenges. Efficiently schedules patients. Reviews schedule with Pharmacy to insure optimal utilization of Provocholine.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Associate’s Degree or equivalent in respiratory care as recognized by the New York State Board for Respiratory Therapy, required.
• New York State Registered Respiratory Therapist license or Respiratory Therapist Technician license,certification by the National Board for Respiratory Care (CRT), with CPFT specialty credential within a year of hire, required.
• Computer competency, including basic understanding of, and ability to work with, Microsoft Windows based pulmonary function software programs.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
