Job summary

Mass General Brigham's The General Hospital Corporation is seeking a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join the Cardiac Surgical Service on a per diem basis.

The APP will support pre- and post-operative care, coordinate tests and consultations, educate patients, and prepare for discharge, while maintaining close communication with Surgeons, Intensivists, Fellows, and nursing staff.

Qualifications

• Master's Degree in Nursing or Physician Assistant required.
• Current MA licensure as PA or NP.
• One year of APP experience required.
• National certification in acute care APRN or PA.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care and education in ambulatory, inpatient, and operative settings.
• Performs complete histories and physical examinations.
• Orders, interprets, and evaluates laboratory and diagnostic tests.
• Develops appropriate plans of care and follow-up based on findings.
• Coordinates pre- and post-operative testing, referrals, and scheduling.
• Documents thoroughly in the medical record and communicates with care team.
