Job summary

Nash UNC Health Care in North Carolina is seeking a skilled Ultrasound Technologist to perform ultrasound exams, ensure image quality and patient safety under the direction of a Radiologist. The role includes on-site duties, teaching staff and students, and rotation in ultrasound on-call.

You will operate and maintain equipment, document results, and assist during invasive procedures while coordinating with physicians and nursing staff.

Qualifications

• Associates Degree from an accredited ultrasonography program.
• Current ARRT registration with up-to-date continuing education credits.
• American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers with continuing education credits.
• Registered in two ultrasound sub-specialties or in one ultrasound sub-specialty.
• 1 year of healthcare/medical experience with clinical sonography.

Responsibilities

• Produces ultrasound images and examinations, including abdominal scans and other areas.
• Obtains patient history and reviews pathology reports for correlation with sonograms.
• Operates and maintains sonographic equipment and documents results.
• Provides instruction in sonographic procedures to staff and students.
• Assists physician during invasive procedures and coordinates with physicians and nursing staff.
