Job summary

UCLA Health's Center for Prehospital Care in Los Angeles seeks a BLS Instructor to deliver lectures and hands-on training to the broader healthcare community. Responsibilities include fostering an engaging learning environment, monitoring learner progress, and ensuring course objectives are met.

This is a 25% per diem position with potential to convert to a career. Required: AHA BLS Provider & Instructor, EMT or Paramedic licensure, and relevant health field degree; preferred: EMS educator

Qualifications

• AHS BLS Provider & Instructor certification.
• Current EMT or EMT-Intermediate licensure or Paramedic licensure.
• Baccalaureate degree in a health-related field (preferred).
• 1–2 years experience on ambulance or in ED.
• Experience coordinating education courses or strong time-management skills.
• Current BLS provider certification from the American Heart Association.
• Current BLS instructor certification from the American Heart Association.
• Completion of education educator courses (NAEMSE/NHTSA/FIREFIGHTER/Core instructor) preferred.
• Knowledge of course objectives and clinical equipment handling.
• Ability to translate complex concepts into understandable parts.
• Willingness to work evenings, holidays, and weekends.
