Description
The Per Diem Behavior Technician will provide ABA therapy to children ages 2-12 diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and other developmental and language delays in a center setting. They will work a per diem or as-needed schedule that can vary weekly.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct 1:1 therapy with clients
- Follow prescribed skill acquisition and behavior support plans
- Collect and record data
- Write therapy notes for each session using electronic medical records
- Communicate with parents and caregivers about client progress as instructed by the BCBA
- Assist the BCBA in preparing and organizing client materials
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment
- Ensure client safety and confidentiality
- Attend required trainings to maintain and acquire knowledge
- Become a Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) and follow BACB guidelines
- Contribute to a positive working environment
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree required, or High School Diploma with RBT certification and experience
- RBT certification
- At least 6 months of ABA experience as a behavior technician
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple tasks
- Detail-oriented
- Flexible and adaptable to team and client needs
- Act with integrity and professionalism
Physical and Basic Requirements:
- Ability to lift and carry clients weighing at least 30 pounds
- Willingness to restrain, hold, transport, and perform quick body movements as per Behavior Support Plan
- Ability to assume various postures for extended periods
- Ability to walk, run, and maintain a safe distance from clients
- Ability to sit on the floor or stand for long periods
- Attend to basic needs like feeding, toileting, dressing
- Manual dexterity for data collection and documentation
- Visual acuity for reading and comprehension
- Proficiency in transferring data to electronic systems
- Comfort working on a computer for prolonged periods
- Ability to assemble and maintain therapy space
- Ability to administer medication to clients
