Job summary

IDEXX is seeking a Reagent Design Scientist in Westbrook, Maine to advance new reagent development with a primary focus on solid‑phase peptide synthesis (SPPS). You will design experiments, purify products, and analyze data to support veterinary diagnostic reagents from concept to production.

You will collaborate with cross‑functional teams, document results, and contribute to NPD processes while maintaining rigorous lab practices and compliance in a regulated environment.

Qualifications

• Hands‑on lab experience in chemical synthesis, peptide synthesis, conjugation, purification, and analysis.
• Ability to document experiments clearly and communicate findings.
• Familiarity with data analysis tools and New Product Development processes.

Responsibilities

• Design and execute experiments to advance new reagent development, focusing on solid‑phase peptide synthesis (SPPS).
• Purify and characterize synthetic products and conjugates using chromatographic and spectroscopic techniques.
• Document experiments and results and communicate findings to colleagues and cross‑functional teams.
