Job summary

The Metropolitan Transportation Authority (MTA) seeks an Advanced Software Engineer for its IT Department in New York, NY. You will lead requirements, engineering, testing, and integration for complex software initiatives, collaborating across product, systems, and service design teams.

The role reports to the Manager, Product Development and supports critical transit operations. Salary range is $140,828–$166,223 with teleworking eligibility of two days per week; standard hours are 9:00 am–5:30

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree with a minimum of 8 years of relevant experience.
• Must hold one of the listed professional certifications (CSD, CSM, CSSLP, CSTP, AWS Developer, Azure Developer, etc.).
• Hands-on programming experience and knowledge of multiple software development methodologies.

Responsibilities

• Leads requirements management, software engineering, system testing, and acceptance testing activities across all stages and iterations for complex software development and integration initiatives.
• Leads the definition, documentation, and successful completion of large projects within business objectives and resource constraints.
• Drafts and maintains software support processes and documentation; diagnoses incidents and conducts root-cause analysis.
• Plans and leads user experience design activities for large programs and products.
• Develops, maintains, and applies tools to track system information and audits complex software systems.
• Manages relationships with suppliers, contributes to RFP/RFIs, and negotiates contracts and SLAs.
