Hours of Work
9:00 am – 5:30 pm (7.5 hours/day) or as required.

Summary
The Metropolitan Transportation Authority (MTA) is North America’s largest mobility network. The MTA Information Technology department’s Product Development group manages the full lifecycle of IT products, from strategy through retirement, to support MTA’s operational and business goals. This role leads cross‑functional teams that design, build, and sustain innovative transportation, operational, and back‑end information systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee quality assurance processes to meet reliability, performance, and safety objectives.
- Implement the product vision and strategy across the development team.
- Identify risks, develop mitigation plans, and report escalations as required.
- Drive product initiatives to completion on time and within budget.
- Adapt to changing priorities and market conditions while managing through change.
- Translate strategy into operational plans aligned with company objectives.
- Deliver monthly or quarterly results, reviewing performance against targets.
- Collaborate with IT and business leaders to create and manage aligned product roadmaps.
- Ensure compliance with governance processes and adherence to technology architectures.
- Develop, monitor, and improve support processes to maintain product quality and sustainability.
- Analyze market trends and competitive landscape to inform product strategy and feature prioritization.
- Manage day‑to‑day operations, motivate teams, and coordinate budgets and resource demands.
- Supervise a professional team across all stages of the product lifecycle.
- Monitor deliverables for adherence to enterprise and departmental governance and approval processes.
- Propose and implement improvement strategies to enhance product effectiveness and efficiency.
- Maintain personal knowledge of industry models, tools, technologies, and regulatory changes.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Arts/Sciences (BA/BS).
- Minimum five years of relevant technology experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Demonstrated leadership and motivation of cross‑functional teams.
- Expertise in developing and implementing enterprise product solutions.
- Strong project management skills and experience with software development methodologies (Waterfall, Agile, Scrum, DevOps, etc.).
- Proficiency in programming languages such as Ruby, Python, Java, C++, COBOL, etc., as appropriate.
- Familiarity with vendor platforms including Azure, Windows Server, Linux, and application-specific platforms.
- Ability to prioritize tasks, multitask, and work effectively in an agile environment.
- Excellent analytical and problem‑solving skills, including threat assessment and risk mitigation.
- Strong communication abilities—verbal, written, and active listening.
- Capacity to influence and negotiate to build internal and external partnerships.
- Experience in evaluating, selecting, implementing, and maintaining information systems.
