PeopleSoft Analyst / Developer

Position Summary

We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Lead Analyst‑Solutions Develop. In this role, the successful candidate will serve as the Corporate Systems representative to support systems automation and provide functional and technical expertise to support the PeopleSoft HCM user community. The candidate will work with developers and corporate business owners to collect user requirements and translate them into well‑engineered, tested, and deployed business application systems, acting as the conduit between the customer community and the software development team.

Job Responsibilities
  • Proactively communicate and collaborate with business partners to analyze information needs and functional requirements and deliver the following artifacts as needed: Functional requirements (Business Requirements Document), Use Cases, GUI, Screen and Interface Designs
  • Understands how to configure base table set ups and maintains documentation.
  • Understands system and industry security requirements; works with functional team, security team, and internal audit to ensure system security and data integrity.
  • Understands reporting requirements and assists functional users to define requirements and select the best tools to meet the need.
  • Understands interdependencies between human resources, benefits and payroll modules; helps design and configure systems to ensure smooth and accurate data flow.
  • Follows department standard methodology and procedures, including change control.
  • Develops test plans in cooperation with functional colleagues.
  • Define and conduct system tests and system validation; ensure test scripts are created, reviewed, and updated to reflect proposed solutions. Support and oversee user acceptance testing.
  • Assist with user acceptance testing and logging/resolving testing issues.
  • Manage communication to users on assigned tickets, track issues, ensure their timely resolution, and manage user expectations; assist in prioritization of user requests.
  • Owns assigned tickets from beginning to end.
  • Assist in production support resolution as required; provide off‑hours support as needed.
  • May perform some report development or modification; support super users modifying and developing queries; act as a resource and liaison for users and reporting/BI developers.
  • May perform data extracts, schedule system jobs, and support/maintain workflow.
  • Troubleshoot integration issues, resolving or escalating as appropriate.
  • Escalate issues as appropriate to technical or vendor resources.
  • Coordinate and/or participate in application releases and upgrades.
  • Maintain support and training documentation.
  • Participate in conversions and deployment of systems/modules, supporting functional and technical teams.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree in information systems, computer science or related field; typically requires 7 or more years of relevant experience.
  • Strong experience in systems design, testing, deployment and support of PeopleSoft HCM applications including Core HR, Employee and Manager Self Service, Base Benefits, Benefit Administration, North America Payroll, Commitment Accounting.
  • Experience with PeopleSoft Interaction Hub, Learning Management, and Performance/Goal Management a plus.
  • Strong understanding of the tables and data structure used by PeopleSoft modules as well as experience using PeopleSoft Query and other SQL reporting tools.
  • Familiar with best practice Human Resources and Payroll business processes, preferably in healthcare, gained by working in the business units or in application support of these systems.
  • Experience maintaining Human Resources and Payroll systems, preferably in an implementation capacity (full project lifecycle preferred).
  • Ability to anticipate potential problems, determine and implement solutions.
  • Outstanding critical thinking skills and ability to analyze business needs and translate into system requirements.
  • Proven ability to work with all members of a project team, including business, technical, and management.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, customer service, communication, analysis and problem‑solving skills required.
  • Proven ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
  • Must be extremely organized and capable of tracking, managing, and resolving many issues simultaneously.
  • Technical skills: troubleshoot and diagnose issues using tracing, SQL, Application Designer, and PeopleSoft tables; modify SQR and Application Engine programs; experience with PeopleTools and integrations; advanced verbal and writing skills; knowledge of analytical practices; Microsoft Office (Advanced Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Visio, etc.).
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with PeopleSoft HCM 9.2.
  • Experience in an academic medical center a plus.
