Job summary

Crusoe is hiring a People Research Scientist to lead research within the People Science and Workforce Intelligence team. You will bring scientific rigor to questions that matter as Crusoe scales, focusing on hiring, retention, engagement, and organizational health across corporate, engineering and field teams.

You will design and run systematic studies, apply ethical research practices, and partner with Talent Acquisition, HR, and leadership to translate findings into actions that improve

Qualifications

• Master's or PhD in I/O Psychology, Organizational Behavior or related field.
• Experience with applied experimental design, hypthesis testing, longitudinal methods and causal inference.
• Experience with survey design, psychometrics and employee listening programs.
• Ability to work with structured and unstructured data via SQL, Python or R.
• Experience in statistical analysis and data storytelling with stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Own research design and scientific inquiry, form and test hypotheses about people programs and outcomes.
• Run longitudinal studies to understand long-term engagement, retention and productivity as Crusoe scales.
• Synthesize external research to identify best practices and gaps in people interventions.
• Partner cross-functionally to design and run systematic studies on employee experience and organizational health.
• Apply ethics and data privacy practices to all employee research.
• Build evaluation plans for onboarding, learning, recognition, retention and compensation programs.
• Define success measures and indicators linking programs to business outcomes.
• Provide recommendations on what to scale, change or stop.
• Partner with Talent Acquisition to design structured interviews and validate hiring signals.
• Run validation studies for hiring signals and monitor adverse impact and fairness.
• Evaluate AI-assisted hiring tools for validity and candidate experience.
• Act as a POC for assessment vendor relationships.
• Support employee listening and survey programs and turn findings into actionable recommendations.
• Create clear visualizations and communicate findings to executives and HR partners.
