Job summary

Maersk is seeking a People Partner to support Sumner, WA with frontline HR functions including employee relations, performance management, benefits, leaves, training, and policy interpretation. You will act as the first contact for employee issues, conduct investigations, ensure wage/hour compliance, and assist in staffing, policy implementation, and audits.

The role is full-time and on-site, requiring a Bachelor’s degree with 7–10 years of related experience and preferably an HR certification

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 7-10 years related experience and/or training.
  • HR Certification (PHR/SPHR) highly desired.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as first point of contact for employee-related issues including harassment, wage/hour concerns, leaves, onboarding and terminations.
  • Conduct employee investigations, gather statements, and recommend next steps.
  • Ensure compliance with state and federal wage/hour laws and postings.
  • Assist with implementation of department and company goals, policies and procedures.
  • Manage performance management processes including PIPs and corrective actions.
  • Provide coaching to managers on employee-related issues.
  • Support headcount planning and temporary staffing with facility leaders.
  • Create and implement HR policies and procedures.
  • Assist with termination paperwork and off-boarding processes.
  • Participate in unemployment, wage/hour and EEOC hearings.
  • Support harassment and employee development training programs.
  • Audit data integrity and assist in reporting.

People Partner - Sumner, WA


The People Partner position will support assigned locations with various human resource functions by providing a front-line response in the areas of employee relations, performance management, benefits, leaves of absence, training, record tracking, policy interpretation, procedure implementation, personnel actions, and other areas within the HR department.



Responsibilities


  • Act as the first point of contact for all employee-related issues, including, but not limited to, harassment, wage & hour concerns, leaves of absence, injuries, onboarding, terminations, attendance, investigations, and disciplinary actions.

  • Conduct employee investigations, gather witness statements, and make recommendations regarding the next steps.

  • Ensure compliance with various state and federal wage/hour laws, signage, postings, etc.

  • Assist with the implementation of department and company goals, objectives, policies, and procedures.

  • Manage company-wide performance management process, including Performance Improvement Plans and corrective actions.

  • Provide support and coaching to managers on employee-related issues.

  • Work with facility leaders to strategically manage headcount and temporary staffing needs.

  • Assist with creating and implementing HR-focused and company-based policies and procedures.

  • Assist Managers with termination paperwork, exit interviews, and the off-boarding process.

  • Participate in unemployment, wage/hour, and EEOC hearings.

  • Assist with company-wide harassment and employee development training programs.

  • Manage and conduct appropriate audits to ensure data integrity.

  • Create and assist in the evaluation of reports.

  • Assist with keeping organization charts current.

  • Advise employees and management in the interpretation of human resources policies, programs, procedures, and applicable laws and regulations.

  • Perform tasks and duties of a strategic nature and scope as required.

  • Position is full-time and on-site.

  • Other duties may be assigned.



Qualifications


  • Spanish preferred.

  • Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from a four-year college or university with or 7-10 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • HR Certification (PHR/SPHR) is highly desired.

Pay Range: $90,000-100,000 *The above-stated pay range is the anticipated starting salary range for the position. The Company may adjust this range in light of prevailing market conditions and other factors such as location. The Company will work directly with the selected candidate(s) on the final starting salary in accordance with all applicable laws.
