Job summary

Astro Mechanica is seeking a skilled People Operations professional to own the employee journey from offer acceptance through offboarding as the company scales in the United States. You will drive scalable HR processes, benefits administration, and compliance across states, ensuring a seamless employee experience.

You will partner with leadership on compensation planning, HR systems, and reporting while maintaining high standards of data integrity and confidentiality.

Qualifications

• 3–6+ years of People Operations or HR Operations experience.
• Experience with multi-state HR compliance and US employment law.
• Experience owning a benefits renewal cycle including broker coordination.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to build processes and drive initiatives with minimal direction.

Responsibilities

• Build scalable People Operations processes from the ground up, enabling the company to grow while staying lean.
• Support recruiting operations, including interview scheduling, candidate coordination, ATS administration, reporting, and metrics.
• Own benefits administration end-to-end, including enrollment, employee support, vendor management, and annual renewals.
• Own HR compliance administration across multiple states, including claims management and coordination with insurers/partners.
• Own onboarding execution, including employment documentation, HRIS setup, benefits enrollment, and first-day readiness.
• Support compensation planning, market benchmarking, equity administration, and annual review cycles with leadership.
• Serve as the primary contact for employee questions related to benefits/policies, exercising sound judgment.
• Own and improve HR systems, documentation, workflows, and reporting to increase efficiency.
