Job summary

50 North is seeking a People Operations Specialist to oversee HR operations, serve employees and leadership, and manage the full employee life cycle.

This exempt, on-site position in Findlay, Ohio, is 30 hours per week with one evening, starting salary of $52,500 annually. Reports to the Executive Director and Assistant Director, and supports recruiting, onboarding, benefits, and policy updates.

Qualifications

• Significant HR or people operations experience including employee relations.
• Strong knowledge of HR practices and the ability to apply policies consistently.
• Ability to address sensitive matters fairly and confidentially.
• Experience using HR information systems; BambooHR experience is a plus.
• On-site availability during scheduled hours, including one evening.

Responsibilities

• Manage recruitment, onboarding, development, and offboarding with department leaders.
• Advis*e supervisors and leadership on employee relations, performance management, documentation, and workplace concerns.
• Coordinate employee complaints and workplace investigations, document findings, and recommend next steps to leadership.
• Administer approved benefits and leave processes, including enrollment and employee communications.
• Maintain BambooHR, employee records, job descriptions, and HR reporting.
• Review HR policies and the employee handbook and recommend updates for leadership and board consideration when appropriate.
• Partner with department leaders on staffing needs, workforce planning, and professional development.
• Coordinate employee engagement, recognition, and training initiatives.
• Monitor changes affecting employment practices and seek specialized guidance when needed.
• Attend Safety Council meetings as needed and use HR information to identify opportunities for improvement.

Position Summary

The People Operations Specialist manages 50 North’s HR operations and serves as a resource to employees, supervisors, and leadership. This position handles the full employee life cycle, helps address workplace concerns fairly and confidentially, and improves the practices that support a positive and consistent employee experience.

Key Responsibilities

• Sound judgment and the ability to address sensitive matters fairly and confidentially.
• Excellent communication, documentation, organization, and conflict resolution skills.
• Experience using HR information systems; BambooHR experience is a plus.
• An HR-related degree or professional certification is preferred; substantial relevant experience will also be considered.
• Ability to work on site during scheduled hours, including one evening.
