Job summary

Jobtailor seeks a hands-on People Operations professional based in Palo Alto to own onboarding across the Americas and streamline HRIS workflows.

You will document and standardize policies, automate processes, and ensure compliance with CLT, Mexican labor law, and US employment law while supporting compensation and performance cycles with accurate data.

This role requires 4+ years of cross-country experience and bilingual English and Spanish or Portuguese, with three days in the Palo Alto office.

Qualifications

• 4+ years in People Operations or HR Operations.
• Hands-on HRIS administration with workflows and fields.
• Experience in multiple countries or jurisdictions.
• Bilingual in English and Spanish or English and Portuguese.
• Based in Palo Alto, CA with 3 days per week in the Palo Alto office.

Responsibilities

• Build policies, workflows, and systems that scale the employee lifecycle without scaling headcount.
• Own employee onboarding end to end across Brazil, Mexico, and the US.
• Document, version, and standardize People Operations policies, procedures, and workflows across three markets.
• Replace manual work with automation and reduce manual touches per employee action.
• Own HRIS configuration, including workflows, approval chains, fields, and integrations.
• Evaluate HR technology based on business needs, cost, fit, and implementation effort.
• Hunt for operational gaps and fix them proactively.
• Own People Operations tickets and questions from employees and managers across all three markets.
• Partner with Legal and Operations on compliance with CLT, Mexican labor law, and US employment law.
• Run the annual open enrollment cycle.
• Document and consistently apply leave-of-absence processes under US, Brazilian, and Mexican requirements.
• Audit HR workflows for automation opportunities and build business cases for prioritization.
• Support compensation cycles, performance review cycles, and org-chart changes with accurate HRIS data.
• Partner with recruiting and finance to keep headcount, compensation, and systems data reconciled.
• Ensure compliance requirements across jurisdictions are met on time.

Requirements

• 4+ years in People Operations or HR Operations
• Hands-on HRIS administration, including configuring workflows and fields
• Track record of turning manual, inconsistent processes into documented, standardized processes and achieving adoption
• Experience working across more than one country or legal jurisdiction
• Bilingual in English and Spanish or English and Portuguese
• Based in Palo Alto, CA, with 3 days per week in the Palo Alto office
• Nice to have: Experience at a technology company
• Nice to have: Exposure to Brazilian or Mexican labor law and statutory benefits administration
