Job summary

DECA Games is seeking a People Operations Manager to keep things running smoothly and ensure a great employee experience. This hands-on role spans contracts, payroll coordination, onboarding, events, and HR process improvements across a remote-first organization.

Ideal candidates are curious, organized, detail-oriented, and eager to learn, with 3+ years in HR or People Operations, German payroll experience, fluent English, and German at CEFR B2 or higher.

Qualifications

• 3+ years in HR or People Operations or similar role.
• Experience with German employment administration and payroll processes.
• Fluent English; German at CEFR B2 level or higher.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and follow through reliably.
• Proactive, self-starting approach and willingness to learn.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and manage employment contracts, addenda, and contractor agreements with accurate documentation.
• Coordinate monthly payroll processes with external providers.
• Generate bonus letters and promotion letters; maintain employee data in HRIS.
• Support managers with day-to-day HR questions.
• Prepare HR reports and maintain employee records.
• Own onboarding experience to ensure smooth starts for new hires.
• Support employee engagement initiatives and company culture.
• Coordinate remote and in-person company events.
• Support salary and bonus review processes.
• Identify opportunities to improve HR processes and implement practical solutions.
• Handle compliance documentation.
