Job summary

Transluce in San Francisco seeks the first dedicated People/HR professional to design and run systems as we scale from 20 to 40+ employees. You report directly to the Chief of Staff and operate as an individual contributor, shaping how the people function evolves.

You will own hiring end-to-end, onboarding, payroll, benefits, HRIS, and compliance, building policies that sustain culture and advising managers through sensitive situations. In-person office culture is valued.

Qualifications

• Own end-to-end hiring process with hiring managers.
• Design and run core people operations (payroll, benefits, onboarding, visas).
• Advise managers on employee relations with honesty and discretion.
• Excellent written and verbal communication across stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Own our hiring process end-to-end: communications, scheduling, funnel analysis.
• Shape sourcing strategy to raise funnel quality.
• Build onboarding ensuring complete first-week readiness.
• Manage payroll, benefits, HRIS; vendor decisions and support.
