The Opportunity

We’re looking for a People Operations & HRIS Associate to help build the backbone of our team as we scale across multiple locations.

This isn’t a sit‑back HR role. This is a roll‑up‑your‑sleeves, build‑it‑from‑scratch opportunity.

You’ll own critical systems, support our people, and help create the processes that will power BuyWander’s growth.

What You’ll Do

Own the engine behind our people operations:

• Manage and optimize our HRIS (Paylocity)—keeping data clean, systems running, and workflows improving
• Run and support payroll (audits, off‑cycle runs, troubleshooting issues)

Be the go‑to for our team:

• Support employees with questions, issues, and day‑to‑day needs
• Partner with General Managers to simplify and streamline HR processes

Help us build and scale:

• Create and improve core HR processes as we grow
• Coordinate recruiting (scheduling, communication, candidate experience)
• Support performance tracking and reporting

Keep things moving:

• Handle routine employee relations matters and elevate when needed
• Work with external partners (benefits, HR consultants, etc.)

What You Bring

• 2–5 years in HR, People Ops, or similar
• Experience with an HRIS (Paylocity is a big plus)
• Exposure to payroll and workforce operations
• Strong attention to detail (you catch what others miss)
• Organized, reliable, and able to juggle multiple priorities
• Comfortable learning new systems quickly
• Clear communicator—approachable, professional, and solutions‑oriented

Bonus Points

• Multi‑state or multi‑location experience
• Experience in a startup or fast‑growing environment
