Job summary

Cellanome in Foster City, CA is seeking a People Operations Generalist to own core operations, workplace events, and recruiting coordination. You will manage the employee lifecycle in Rippling, enhance onboarding/offboarding, and support benefits and payroll across multiple states while collaborating with Finance, Legal, and cross‑functional teams.

The role emphasizes automation to reduce manual work and improve efficiency.

Qualifications

• 4 years in a People Operations, HR (People) Operations, or HR Generalist role in a fast-moving environment.
• Hands-on experience with leave administration, benefits, payroll, and multi-state HR compliance (California preferred).
• Proven ability to run onsite events and workplace programs from concept to execution.
• Comfort managing vendor relationships for workplace/events and accountability.
• Ability to map processes end-to-end and redesign for simplicity.
• Experience with ATS/HRIS (Greenhouse/Rippling a plus) and using AI/automation to optimize recurring work.
• Strong judgment on when to handle issues directly vs. escalate to leadership.

Responsibilities

• Run the employee lifecycle end-to-end (onboarding/offboarding) in Rippling with accuracy and speed.
• Administer leave of absence programs across multiple states, coordinating with employees, managers, carriers, and payroll on eligibility and documentation.
• Own day-to-day benefits administration, including employee questions, enrollment logistics, carrier coordination, and reconciliation.
• Support multi-state payroll processing and partner with Accounting on payroll RACI.
• Keep compliance documentation audit-ready across states and entities.
• Serve as a responsive first point of contact for employee questions and escalate sensitive issues to People leadership.
