Job summary

Maersk is seeking a detail-oriented People Advisor to join our Charlotte, North Carolina team in an on-site role. You will support onboarding and offboarding, maintain employee records, and assist with data accuracy across HRIS and related systems while serving as a frontline resource for employees and managers.

Ideal candidates have 1–2 years of HR, People Operations, or related administrative experience, strong computer skills (Word, Excel, Outlook), and a commitment to confidentiality.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • 1–2 years of HR, People Operations, or related administrative experience.
  • Strong computer proficiency including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Ability to quickly learn HRIS and other business systems.
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain and update employee information within HRIS and related systems while ensuring data accuracy and confidentiality.
  • Support new hire onboarding activities, including documentation and system setup.
  • Prepare offer letters and communicate onboarding information to candidates.
  • Process employee changes, including promotions, pay increases, transfers, and terminations.
  • Coordinate background checks and drug screening processes and communicate clearance status to management.
  • Serve as a primary point of contact for employees regarding People-related inquiries.
  • Maintain personnel files and ensure proper record retention and document management.
  • Compile data and prepare reports from personnel records as needed.
  • Support payroll and compliance processes through accurate employee data management.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Who We Are Looking For

  • Spanish bilingual skills is a plus.
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • One to two years of Human Resources, People Operations, or related administrative experience.
  • Strong computer proficiency, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Ability to quickly learn HRIS and other business systems.
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and manage sensitive information professionally.
  • Strong customer service and communication skills.

Location: Charlotte, North Carolina, USA
Work Arrangement: Full-Time, On-Site 5 days
Compensation: $24.00 - $27.00 per hour
