Job summary

Goodwill Industries of New Mexico seeks an Assistant Store Manager to lead a fast-paced retail team and drive excellent customer service, training, and daily operations. You will coordinate store activities, supervise staff, manage cash handling, and ensure HIPAA and CARF compliance in a community-focused environment.

Base pay starts at $16.25/hour with guaranteed 38 hours per week and a benefit-rich package including health insurance and retirement programs.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Three years of progressive retail experience with supervisory responsibilities.
• Strong customer service and leadership skills.
• Ability to work extended hours and various schedules.
• Knowledge of cash handling and POS systems.

Responsibilities

• Adhere to attendance and punctuality policies.
• Exhibit excellent customer service skills in position.
• Maintain a clean store environment with attractive displays.
• Resolve customer inquiries and promote service quality.
• Communicate shipment concerns to the store manager.
• Open and close the store at scheduled times; ensure security.
• Follow loss prevention policies and procedures.
• Document progress, concerns and problems to store manager.
• Assist in ordering supplies and handling cash per procedures.
• Prepare daily sales reports and cash deposits.
• Monitor merchandise levels and coordinate weekly pulls.
• Oversee quality of goods going to sales floor.
• Integrate people with barriers to employment into the store setting.
• Reconcile cash with receipts and prepare accounting records.
• Assist in scheduling and recording hours worked.
• Supervise sales floor, cashier functions, and donation center.
• Assist in personnel actions with management guidance.
• Perform retail associate duties as needed.
• Ensure HIPAA compliance.
• Ensure safety of staff and customers.
• Maintain CARF standards and professional ethics.
• Maintain confidentiality of privileged information.
• Perform other duties as required.
