Job summary

Van Andel Institute is seeking a People Development Coordinator to organize programs, coordinate events and provide daily administrative support. The role reports to the Director of People Development and involves managing timelines, communications, and office systems.

This full-time, in-person position at Van Andel Institute in Grand Rapids, with the possibility of remote work one day per week based on performance, offers growth through collaboration with the Cancer Epigenetics Training Program

Qualifications

• An associate or bachelor’s degree is preferred; an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience will be considered.
• At least two years of experience providing administrative support or coordinating events, programs or projects.
• Excellent attention to detail and strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and produce accurate, timely work.
• Strong written, verbal, interpersonal and customer service skills.
• The ability to work independently, anticipate routine needs, resolve standard issues and keep team members informed.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate programs and events while providing day-to-day administrative support.
• Manage timelines and logistics, support communications and systems, schedule meetings and maintain records.
• Help ensure details behind successful work are handled accurately and on time.
• Coordinate event logistics including space, food, agendas, supplies, vendors and travel.
• Provide administrative support to related offices and maintain SharePoint sites.
