Job summary

The William Vale, operated by EOS Hospitality in Brooklyn, seeks a hands-on People + Culture Manager to support our hotel team and drive HR operations. You will partner with leadership to deliver recruitment, onboarding, benefits administration, and employee relations while ensuring compliance with wage and hour laws.

Ideal candidates have 2+ years in hotel HR, proficiency with HRIS/ADP, and strong organizational skills, time management, and customer-focused service.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher required/PHR or SPHR certified preferred.
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience actively serving in human resource management in a hotel/resort environment.
  • Required proficiency, knowledge, and experience in all HR processes: selection & employment, employee relations, compensation, benefits administration, employment law, workers' compensation and talent management.
  • Experience in ADP Workforce Now is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Assist Director of People and Culture with managing communication, including answering phone calls and taking messages.
  • Maintain calendar, schedule meetings and appointments.
  • Assist in the preparation of regularly scheduled reports.
  • Provide timely assistance to team members by answering employee requests and questions.
  • Assist with recruitment and interview process, submits new-employee background checks.
  • Schedule meetings and interviews as requested by the director of HR.
  • Prepare offer packets, benefit packets and other employee related information.
  • Coordinate new hire paperwork and new hire orientation meetings.
  • Complete Forms I-9, verify I-9 documentation and maintain I-9 files.
  • Administer employee benefit plans, including enrollments, changes and terminations.
  • Reconcile benefits statements.
  • Assist with colleague recognition, reward and incentive programs.
  • Assist in coordinating and managing employee trainings.
  • Complete employment verifications and unemployment claims.
  • Maintain current knowledge of applicable local, state and federal wage and hour laws.
  • Oversee organizational processes within department, such as file audits, paperwork maintenance, etc.
  • Responsible for updating department logs and spreadsheets.
  • Maintain filing and organization for HR department.

Overview

Success awaits a hands-on, personable, motivated, and professional People + Culture Manager to join our team. The ideal candidate is an experienced, high-energy and empowered individual who will proactively provide constant support and guidance to our entire team regarding people resources, systems and SOPs.

  • Must be proactive in handling problems, including anticipating, preventing, identifying and solving issues as necessary.
