Job summary

Middlebury Natural Foods Co-op in Vermont seeks a thoughtful, experienced People & Culture Manager to shape workplace culture and support HR across a 100+ staff in a fast-paced retail environment.

You will lead recruitment, employee relations, performance management, compensation and benefits, training, onboarding, HR compliance, workplace culture, and organizational communication, while partnering with managers and staff.

Qualifications

• At least 5 years of HR leadership across multiple HR disciplines including recruitment, employee relations, performance management, compensation and benefits, and organizational development.
• Experience supporting organizations with 100+ employees.
• Knowledge of employment law and HR best practices.

Responsibilities

• Lead recruitment and hiring processes.
• Oversee employee relations and performance management.
• Administer compensation and benefits; manage HR policies.
• Provide leadership development and training; onboarding systems.
• Ensure HR compliance and policy administration.
• Foster workplace culture, engagement, and effective organizational communication.
• Support organizational change management and act as strategic partner to managers.
