Job summary

Barnes Foundation seeks an HR Generalist to support employee relations, performance management, policy administration, and organizational culture across a hybrid Philadelphia campus and remote work setting.

The ideal candidate will build strong partnerships, maintain confidentiality, and apply US employment law knowledge while advancing workforce engagement and talent development initiatives.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in HR, business, psychology, organizational development, or related field.
• 3–5 years of experience in employee relations, HR, OD, or related discipline.
• Experience conducting workplace investigations and handling employee relations matters.
• Working knowledge of employment laws and HR best practices.
• Strong interpersonal, conflict resolution, and communication skills.
• Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and HRIS.

Responsibilities

• Serve as a primary point of contact for employees on workplace concerns, policies, procedures, and employee relations.
• Partner with supervisors to address performance, attendance, conduct, and workplace behavior issues.
• Provide coaching to managers on employee relations, conflict resolution, and performance management.
• Assist in resolving concerns through mediation and problem-solving.
• Conduct and document workplace investigations related to policy violations and misconduct.
• Maintain confidential employee relations files in line with policies and legal requirements.
• Monitor trends and propose proactive solutions to recurring issues.
• Support end-to-end investigation methodologies and understanding of US employment laws.
• Support talent management and training initiatives to strengthen engagement and culture.
• Assist HR operations including benefits, payroll, open enrollment, and documentation.
• Support safety initiatives and compliance within the workplace.
