Job summary

ANSER is seeking a Cybersecurity Staff Action Officer to support the DoW CISO at the Pentagon in Arlington, VA. The role demands coordinating with senior DoW officials, managing multiple tasks, and delivering clear, well-structured materials in a fast-paced environment.

Required are an active TS/SCI clearance and a strong background in information systems/cybersecurity, with extensive staff experience and exceptional communication skills to briefing executives and leading governance efforts.

Qualifications

• Active TS/SCI security clearance.
• Master’s degree in information systems, cybersecurity, project management, business administration, government, public policy, organizational leadership, or a related field; 10+ years of staff action experience or a Bachelor’s degree with 12+ years.
• Proven ability distilling and briefing complex topics for senior leader decision-making.
• Exceptional executive-level interpersonal and communication skills.
• Experience supporting GO/FO/SES or similar DoW senior leaders.
• Familiarity with cybersecurity concepts, policies, and governance.
• Experience creating staff products, decision support materials, and documentation with technical, managerial content.
• Ability to take initiative, prioritize, plan, and execute with limited oversight in a fast-paced, high-visibility environment.
• Proven ability to navigate complex organizational structures to align with enterprise goals.
• Knowledge of DoW correspondence requirements.
• High proficiency in Microsoft Office software.

Responsibilities

• Oversee and report on the timely execution, quality, and completeness of DoW CISO projects and actions.
• Support development and refinement of project management frameworks, tools, processes, and governance structures.
• Collaborate with subject matter experts and stakeholders to proactively advance actions and milestones.
• Ensure initiatives and products are staffed and coordinated at required levels, including preparing materials for senior level information and decision.
• Draft and refine talking points, briefings, and other senior level communications, ensuring message clarity, adherence to DoW standards, audience-appropriate content, leadership appropriate tone, and consistent formatting.
• Prepare senior leaders with clear materials, talking points, and strategic context; and support presentation of issues across increasingly senior forums.
• Participate in department wide forums and identify issues requiring higher level adjudication.
• Track governance issues such as the execution of decisions and directives and provide periodic updates to stakeholders on progress toward established milestones and objectives.
