Job summary

The Board of Pensions of the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.) in Philadelphia seeks a Manager to lead the Pension and Disability team, ensuring timely processing and resolving escalated issues. You will coach staff, review compliance with IRS rules, audit plan transactions, and collaborate with Plan Operations, Finance and Benefits to drive service improvements.

Requirements include a bachelor’s degree or equivalent, 5+ years in benefits/customer service, and 3+ years of people leadership;

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in a benefits/customer service environment.
  • 5+ years in a benefits/customer service environment with preference for Defined Benefits/Defined Contribution or disability benefits experience.
  • 3+ years in leading and developing staff; preferably in a benefits administration call center environment.
  • Strong leadership, coaching, and staff development capabilities.
  • Experience with customer care technologies, including case management and knowledge base systems.

Responsibilities

  • Provide effective leadership to Pension and Disability Specialists by managing performance, coaching, and development.
  • Ensure plan compliance with IRS regulations and audit retirement savings plan transactions for accuracy.
  • Review escalated cases, monitor service levels, and adjust processes to gain efficiencies.
  • Resolve escalations and support cross-functional initiatives within Plan Operations, Finance, and Benefits.
  • Prepare reports and support initiatives for pension, death, disability, and retirement savings plans.
