Job summary

Corebridge Financial is seeking a professional with actuarial or defined benefit pension plan expertise to join the US pension underwriting team. The role involves underwriting, on-boarding new business, and drafting defined benefit provisions with actuarial perspectives to support call centers and regulatory filings.

Qualifications

• Defined benefit pension plan experience.
• Ability to interpret and implement complex pension plan provisions and draft documents.
• Experience in Pricing, Valuation, Actuarial Modeling, Pension Administration or Contract work.
• Pension benefit calculation modeling, testing, or production experience.
• Project management experience.
• Self-starter with ability to navigate complexity and ambiguity.
• Governance best practices and controls awareness.
• MS Office proficiency; Copilot and VBA a plus.
• Strong communication skills with ability to explain complex material clearly.
• Bachelor's degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or related field.
• Pursue/obtain SOA, Enrolled Actuaries, or ASPA certification.

Responsibilities

• Explain technical actuarial and pension topics to Head of US PRT in New Jersey.
• Be viewed as the defined benefit pension plan expert within the company.
• Assess pension risks, calculate premiums, and draft terms affecting premiums or operations.
• Guide onboarding and lead cross-functional collaboration.
• Design or implement governance, controls, processes, and procedures.
• Review actuarial calculations and methodologies in a controlled environment.
• Execute actuarial model risk management including development and testing.
• Support Operations and Valuation teams and ensure accurate financial reporting.
• Lead projects with sound judgment and creative thinking.
