Job summary

CORT, a Berkshire Hathaway company, is seeking an Operations Manager for our Pensacola distribution center. This on-site role oversees warehouse and transportation operations, drives efficiency, and leads the warehouse and delivery teams with a focus on inventory and fleet management.

Ideal candidates have 3–5 years in warehouse/distribution management, a valid CDL is a plus, and the ability to lift 100+ pounds.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED; college degree preferred.
• 3-5 years of experience in warehouse or distribution management.
• Strong understanding of logistics, safety, and compliance standards.
• Physically able to move furniture and lift 100+ pounds with a partner.
• Valid driver’s license in state of residency and ability to comply with FMCSA regulations.
• DOT Medical Evaluator Certificate likely required; road test per FMCSA/CORT.

Responsibilities

• Daily operational planning for warehouse and delivery teams to meet business demands.
• Plan routes, schedules, and dispatching; provide real-time support to service centers and customers.
• Lead and coach staff; foster accountability and continuous improvement.
• Recruit, onboard, and train warehouse and delivery personnel.
• Oversee inventory accuracy, cycle counts, and movement of goods.
• Manage fleet maintenance and third-party vendors; ensure DOT compliance.
• Forecast warehouse payroll costs and monitor expenditures to meet EBIT goals.
• Lead safety initiatives and audits in line with TMS and DOT standards.
• Act as escalation point for customer issues; collaborate with internal teams.
• Handle administrative duties and KPI reporting.
• Lead warehouse improvement projects and cross-functional initiatives.
