THE POSITION

The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation, Montgomery County Maintenance Organization, is seeking dedicated individuals for full-time CDL Equipment Operator positions. DESCRIPTION OF WORK

As a crew member in the District Line Painting operations, you will focus on renewing long lines annually using equipment, line paint, and beads. During winter, you will assist with snow plowing and other maintenance tasks to ensure roadway safety. Your work extends to construction sites, impacting infrastructure and public safety, emphasizing manual labor, teamwork, and dedication.

Work Schedule and Additional Information

• Full-time employment
• Hours vary from 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, Monday to Friday, with a 30-minute lunch
• Hours may vary seasonally; overtime may be required
• Telework: Not available for this position
• Salary: Starting salary may be non-negotiable in some cases

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

Qualifications:

• Completion of the Transportation Equipment Operator Trainee Program with the Commonwealth of PA, or
• Graduation from a Commercial Driver's License Training School, or
• Equivalent experience and training

Special Requirements:

• Valid Pennsylvania Class A or B CDL with Air Brake Restriction removed
• Valid Medical Examiner's Certificate per FMCSA regulations

Conditions of Employment:

• Obtain certification for heavy trucks and equipment within the probationary period
• Maintain necessary CDL endorsements and certifications
• Operate vehicles with manual transmissions if required
• Subject to Drug and Alcohol testing per federal regulations
