The Position

PennDOT is seeking Transportation Equipment Operator Trainees in Venango County. This role provides hands-on experience and training to operate highway construction and maintenance equipment, along with manual labor duties on highway or bridge maintenance crews. Trainees will learn to operate heavy construction equipment such as Heavy Truck/Tandem Axle and loaders, perform safety checks, and make necessary adjustments for safe operation.

Description of Work

This trainee position involves operating highway construction and maintenance equipment and performing manual labor on highway or bridge maintenance crews. Training will include licensing and certification for equipment operation, safety procedures, and documentation of pre-and post-operation checks.

Work Schedule and Additional Information

• Full-time employment, Monday to Friday, 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, with a 30-minute lunch.
• Travel, overtime, and shift work required; hours may vary seasonally.
• Telework is not available for this position.
• Salary may be non-negotiable in some cases.

Qualifications and Requirements
