Job summary

Leidos is seeking a Mid-Level Offensive Cyber Engineer (Penetration Tester) for the INTEL Sector's Cyber & Analytics Business Area. The role focuses on offensive security assessments, translating adversary methods into resilient detections, and collaborating with defensive teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical discipline with 6+ years of experience; OR Master’s degree with 4+ years; OR equivalent combination.
• 6+ years of hands-on experience in penetration testing, red teaming, or offensive cyber operations.
• Proficiency with Linux distributions (Kali, Parrot) and Windows at deep/system level.
• Experience developing custom scripts/tools using Python, Bash, or PowerShell.
• Strong understanding of networking concepts, TCP/IP, and security assessment methodologies.

Responsibilities

• Develop custom exploits, payloads, and automated testing tools tailored to identified vulnerabilities.
• Plan and execute penetration tests, vulnerability assessments, and network analyses across enterprise and government environments.
• Collaborate with CRS and detection engineering teams to tune threat detectors based on TTPs.
• Travel to testing events to assess exploit effectiveness in real-world scenarios.
• Research documentation, architectures, and security classification guides.
• Author technical reports, remediation roadmaps, and after-action summaries for teams and leadership.
• Mentor junior engineers and assist in planning future tests.
