Job summary

Xcelerate Solutions in McLean, VA is seeking a Penetration Tester to support CyberPRIMES and related enterprise protection for government clients. You will perform assessments, document findings, and deliver actionable reports to enhance security posture.

The ideal candidate has a BS degree with 3+ years of hands-on pen-testing experience, US citizenship, and eligibility for a Secret clearance. This role requires on-site engagement in Northern Virginia and close collaboration with cyber defense

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree and at least three years of relevant experience.
• Must be a U.S. citizen.
• Active Secret clearance required or the ability to obtain one.

Responsibilities

• Conduct government-selected penetration-testing assessments and threat-hunting exercises.
• Develop test plans, execute assessments, and prepare post-assessment reports.
• Coordinate with cyber-tool admins, SOC, and incident-response teams to validate detections.
• Maintain government-furnished testing laptops and tools.
• Research threats and develop methodologies to identify risks likely to be targeted.
• Apply penetration-testing methods across networks and applications, supporting Red/Blue team activities.

Xcelerate Solutions is seeking a Penetration Tester to support CyberPRIMES cybersecurity, privacy, records and information management, and related enterprise support for DHRA, including DMDC and OUSD(P&R). Clearance: Active Secret

Responsibilities

• Conduct Government-selected penetration-testing assessments and threat-hunting exercises in accordance with CSD-SOP-054 and NIST SP 800-115.
• Develop test plans and methodologies, execute assessments, and prepare post-assessment out-briefs and final reports.
• Conduct cooperative testing with cyber-tool administrators, SOC and incident-response analysts, and SIEM content developers to validate detection and alerting.
• Perform pre-audit penetration testing and maintain Government-furnished penetration-testing laptops and tools.
• Research emerging and existing threats and develop methodologies to identify areas of risk likely to be targeted by an intruder.
• Apply established penetration-testing methodologies and commercial or open-source offensive tools across networks, web applications, applications, and code, including support to Red and Blue Team activities.

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree and three years of experience.
• Must be U.S. Citizen
• A Secret clearance is required when the assigned duties require classified information or SIPRNet access.
