Job summary

Cipher Tech Solutions, located in Baltimore, MD, seeks a Data Task Lead with TS+SCI eligibility to oversee a technical team embedded at a government partner site. The role blends individual contribution with leadership of 10-20 engineers, driving data architecture, records and knowledge management, and data science initiatives.

The position requires a TS clearance, PMP, and DoD 8570 IAT III/CISSP, with a strong background in AWS/Azure and AI integration.

Qualifications

• US citizen with TS clearance at Top Secret level or higher
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Information Technology, Math or Physics
• Minimum five years of post-graduate professional experience
• Minimum of one year of experience in the last three years leading and supervising teams
• Minimum of three years in the last ten years building, operating, securing, defending, and extending network infrastructure
• Minimum of two years in the last seven years leading and supervising personnel developing and implementing data lakes and other modern data strategies
• Experience as a data scientist, data engineer, or related field
• PMP certification
• DoD 8570 IAT II (e.g., Security+) certification
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office
• Experience managing services in AWS and Azure
• Experience integrating Artificial Intelligence into daily workflows for process improvement
• Certifications in AWS and Azure, architecture-focused preferred

Description:

The candidate reports to the CIO Services Task lead and manages a technical team embedded in a US Government partner site. This position leads data architecture and engineering, records management, knowledge management, and data science initiatives . This role is a hybrid between an individual contributor, leading implementation by example, and the administrative oversight of 10-20 engineers – this position works collaboratively with project management teams for requirements prioritization and reporting.

Telework Status: No Telework Expected

Clearance Level Required: Top Secret + SCI Eligible

Required Skills/Credentials:

• Be a US Citizen who actively holds a security clearanceat the TS (Top Secret) clearance level or higher
• Bachelors degree in one of the following: Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Information Technology, Math, or Physics
• Minimum five years of post-graduate professional experience

Salary and other Compensation:

The hourly wage range is: $48.08 - $108.17
