Job summary

Mesabi Metallics Company LLC in Minnesota is seeking a Maintenance Mechanic to join our heavy industrial maintenance team. The role involves installing, maintaining, repairing, and operating a broad range of mechanical systems within a mining and pelletization environment.

The candidate must have experience with hydraulic, pneumatic, and power transmission systems, the ability to read manuals and schematics, and a valid driver's license.

Qualifications

• Experience with hydraulic, pneumatic, and power transmission systems.
• Ability to read and interpret equipment service manuals, hydraulic/electrical schematics, and OEM documentation.
• Valid driver's license; ability to operate equipment for testing/repositioning purposes.
• Must pass MSHA Part 48 training, pre-employment physical, drug screen, and background check.
• Willingness to work rotating 12-hour shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair mechanical systems and equipment including hydraulic, pneumatic, and power transmission systems.
• Operate equipment as needed and work at heights and/or in confined spaces.
• Follow MSHA Part 56 safety regulations and lockout/tagout procedures on all equipment.
• Record parts usage and coordinate with parts/warehouse for replenishment.
• Maintain clean, organized work areas in shop and field.
