Job summary

Darling Ingredients Inc. is seeking a Maintenance Technician in California to perform preventive and corrective maintenance in the plant under supervision.

The role includes electrical and mechanical work, equipment repairs, and routine services to keep pellet mill equipment running smoothly. Candidate must have at least 2 years of pellet mill experience, forklift operation, and MIG/STICK welding proficiency.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED equivalent.
• 2 years minimum experience with pellet mills/feed mill equipment.
• Forklift experience.
• Welding proficiency in MIG and Stick.

Responsibilities

• Performs all phases of maintenance, including electrical and mechanical systems.
• Understands the mill flow and mill schematics.
• Maintains all equipment in good working condition.
• Follows preventative maintenance schedule.
• Able to perform routine services and troubleshoot and repair all mill equipment.
• Maintains clean, neat, and orderly work area at all times.
• Assists personnel on special fabrication and construction projects.
• Performs machine repair and installation such as replacing motors and bearings; welds and uses cutting torch.
• Conducts daily greasing and oiling of plant equipment as needed.
• Communicates well with operators and management.
• Follows safety rules and attends safety meetings.
