Job summary

Common Ground is seeking a fully remote Peer Warmline Specialist in Michigan to answer calls, chats, and texts and help callers build coping skills and wellness plans. The role requires MDHHS Peer Support Specialist certification and at least one year of related experience.

You will work with MiCAL to connect callers to crisis resources, document encounters, and maintain strict confidentiality while delivering compassionate support.

Qualifications

  • MDHHS Peer Support Specialist certification is required.
  • Minimum 1 year paid work experience as MDHHS Peer Support Specialist.
  • Permanent year-round Michigan residency.
  • Ability to work fully remote.
  • Private, HIPAA-compliant, dedicated office space.

Responsibilities

  • Accept incoming calls, chats and/or texts.
  • Support callers to develop coping skills and wellness plans.
  • Connect callers to the MiCAL crisis line, as needed.
  • Provide information on resources (e.g. shelters, food pantries, mental health services).
  • Document each encounter while in-call.
  • Communicate with Shift Supervisor and MiCAL staff for support.
  • Maintain confidentiality while performing duties.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Full-Time Shifts
10:00 am - 6:00 pm Sunday - Thursday
6:00 pm - 2:00 am Thursday - Monday

Part-Time Shifts
10:00 am - 6:00 pm Friday - Sunday
10:00 am - 6:00 pm Saturday - Monday

Base Pay

Base Pay: $21 hourly

Day in the Life
  • Login to helpline applications
  • Accept incoming calls, chats and/or texts
  • Support callers to develop their own coping skills and wellness plans
  • Connect callers to the MiCAL crisis line, as needed
  • Provide information on resources (i.e. homeless shelters, food pantries, mental health services, substance use treatment facilities, etc.)
  • Document each encounter while in-call
  • Communicate with the Shift Supervisor and other MiCAL staff in order to receive or provide support
  • Maintain high level confidentiality while performing all duties
  • Perform other duties as assigned
