Position Overview

The Academic Success Center in collaboration with the School of Engineering and Computer Science is seeking Peer Tutors who will assist fellow students in understanding and mastering SECS-related course material, beginning in the Fall 2026 semester. Peer Tutors provide academic support, clarify concepts, and help students develop effective study strategies.

We are currently hiring for:

• EGR
  • 1200, 1400, 2400, 2500, 2600, 2800
• MTH
  • 1441, 1554, 1555
• PHY 1510, 1520
• CHM 1440

Additional Information

• Shifts are determined by subject/course need and the tutor's course schedule.
• Hours are scheduled during the range of: Monday through Thursday 10am 6pm and Fridays 10am - 3pm.
• This position will begin in September 2026.
• Must complete 10 hours of paid training, achieving Level 1 CRLA Certification by the end of First Academic Year employed.

Qualifications

• Must be a currently enrolled OU student in a degree-seeking program with three or more listed courses completed at OU.
• Second-semester freshman standing or higher
• Minimum 3.7 GPA (A-) in the course(s) tutored
• Adequate demonstration of time/task management skills
• Obtain a minimum of one recommendation form from a current OU faculty member. Faculty can access and complete the form using the following link: OU Faculty Recommendation Form
