Oregon Health & Science University is seeking Peer Tutors to provide academic assistance to undergraduate students in coursework. This role involves tutoring students in both group and individual settings, focusing on enhancing their academic skills and study habits.
Successful candidates must maintain an OHSU GPA of 3.0, be enrolled in the undergraduate program, and have a recommendation from faculty members. Strong communication skills and the ability to work with diverse backgrounds are essential.
Peer Tutors are responsible for providing academic assistance to undergraduate students in select coursework. Tutoring is not teaching, but rather supplemental learning for students needing additional assistance with course content. Tutors may also be required for sophomore/junior acute care courses. The peer tutoring program at OHSU utilizes both group and one-on-one tutoring to assist students with course topics.
The OHSU School of Nursing cannot guarantee a minimum number of paid hours per term for this position. All efforts will be made to ensure that interested tutors are receiving some paid hours each term, however, this may fluctuate due to both the tutor's schedule and the needs of undergraduate students.
