Oregon Health & Science University is looking for Peer Tutors to support undergraduate students in select courses. Tutors will provide both group and individual academic assistance, focusing on study skills, time management, and course content understanding.
The role requires a minimum of 2 hours of availability each week, with opportunities to work closely with OHSU faculty and diverse student populations. Ideal candidates will maintain a GPA of 3.0 and excel in communication.
Peer Tutors are responsible for providing academic assistance to undergraduate students in select coursework. Tutoring is not teaching, but rather supplemental learning for students needing additional assistance with course content. Tutors may also be required for sophomore/junior acute care courses. The peer tutoring program at OHSU utilizes both group and one-on-one tutoring to assist students with course topics.
The OHSU School of Nursing cannot guarantee a minimum number of paid hours per term for this position. All efforts will be made to ensure that interested tutors are receiving some paid hours each term, however, this may fluctuate due to both the tutor's schedule and the needs of undergraduate students.
All are welcome. OHSU welcomes people of all ages, ethnicities, genders, national origins, religions and sexual orientations. We are striving to build an anti-racist, multicultural institution and encourage people with diverse backgrounds to apply.
